“Move Boldly” Campaign Poster

Move Boldy - by Yesenia & Rommy Erazo Reyes, Brampton Artists

Most campaign posters are forgettable. We wanted ours to mean something, so instead of a stock photo, we asked two Brampton artists to tell the story.

Sisters Rommy and Yesenia Erazo Reyes are Salvadoran-Canadian artists who work in both traditional and digital styles. We gave them an idea, “Move Boldly,” and let them run with it. The result is a poster full of movement and colour that ties back to our campaign message: She Gets It Done.

Look closely and you’ll find Brampton woven throughout. Vendors at the farmers’ market. The TMU medical campus and integrated health centre. Community members who’ve received the key to the city. The Filipino festival. And the everyday things residents notice, like support for seniors and first responders, newly planted trees, cricket batting cages, pickleball courts, and the Riverwalk. Each piece points to work happening across the city.

Working with local artists was a deliberate choice. Rowena has long supported Brampton’s creative community, including as a founding supporter of the Brampton Arts Organization, and this felt like a natural way to keep that going.

A bit about the artists: Rommy and Yesenia blend their individual styles into a shared approach, creating vibrant, story-driven work made with intention. Rommy draws from nature, culture, and nostalgia, while Yesenia leans into bold shapes, colour, and composition. You may have seen their work at Brampton’s artist markets, live painting events, or in commissions around the city.

In their words:

“We were so excited when Rowena approached us with this project. Having the chance to contribute to this campaign as artists was truly rewarding. Rowena has supported us since our very first artist market and continues to show up for Brampton’s arts community in meaningful and consistent ways. We have seen how present and involved she is, and we wanted to reflect that in a bold, detailed poster that highlights her efforts and shares a positive, inspiring vision of the city.”
